Two Questions That Will Change Your Life

If money wasn’t an issue and failure wasn’t an option, what would you be doing today? Your answer could change everything.

Happy Monday! Day 1 of of my 14-day 6 AM Check-in live series is in the books, and I want to give you the two things we covered. They’re simple, and simple is what works at six in the morning.

Number one: Check in with yourself

Before the phone, before the emails, before anybody else gets a piece of you, say thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I don’t know who your higher power is. It could be God, it could be the universe, whatever you call it. But the more gratitude you show, the more good comes back to you. That’s a universal law, and it works every time.

Then write down five things you’re grateful for, or five wins you’ve already had today. I woke up this morning: that’s a win. I opened my eyes and I can see: that’s a win. Your wins may look itty bitty to everybody else, but they mean something to you.

Here’s why it matters: how you do anything is how you do everything. You stub your toe getting out of bed. You’re out of toothpaste. You get stuck at a train on the way to work. Before you know it, the whole day has built momentum, and once it builds, baby, it is hard to switch.

But one pause can turn it around. Take 15 seconds and start naming what you’re grateful for, even the things you were just complaining about. That’s how you take the day back.

Win your morning, you win the day. Win your days, you win your weeks. Win your weeks, you win your months, your years, your life. That doesn’t mean nothing bad will happen. It means you’ll meet it in alignment.

Number two: Decide

Years ago, I asked a group I was hosting two questions:

If money was not an issue, and failure was not an option, what is one thing you would be doing right now?

A lot of people couldn’t answer. But one woman, Kesha, reached out to me months later and said those questions changed the trajectory of her whole life.

Kesha was a real estate investor. She had several properties just sitting there, making no money. In her head it was “I don’t have the money to rehab them. I don’t have the time.” So many excuses. Her answer to those questions was simple: “I would rehab my properties.”

So she did. She rehabbed her duplex. She found the money, found the time, found the right person to do the work, and that duplex started cash flowing. Then she rehabbed the next one. Then people started bringing her properties to buy. She bought a commercial building and opened a school training CNAs and nurses. It was a domino effect, and it started with one decision.

You can go back and forth forever, and nothing happens. Once you decide, take the word “if” out. Now that money is not an issue, now that failure is not an option, I’m doing it. I’m her. Then act like it, and watch how things change.

Your assignment today

  • Write down five wins you’ve already had today.
  • Set aside 5 to 10 minutes and answer this: If money is not an issue and failure is not an option, what would you be doing today? Who would you be?

Then come check in with me live. We’re doing this for 14 days, weekdays at 6 AM Eastern on YouTube.

We should all be rich friends. — Dr. TMac
