Who belongs at your table?
Your circle is your soft life. The people at your table shape your peace, your joy, and your wealth.
I'm 51. I've lost friends I loved, and I've built a circle that matches my energy. These are the questions I used to figure out who belongs at the table. Now it's your turn.
The four questions
Ask these about each person.
- After time with her, do I feel full or drained?
Your body knows before your mind admits it.
- Does she celebrate my wins out loud?
A real friend is happy when you win, not quiet.
- Would this friendship survive a "no"?
When my best friend since 13 asked to borrow money, I said no. She still tells that story. Real friends survive a no.
- Does she want something from me, or something with me?
My favorite cousin used to sit in my salon and talk. Then he asked for a loan, then another. When I stopped lending, he stopped coming. Some relationships are built on what you provide.
Your top five
The five people who fill your week.
Not who you love most. Who you actually talk to and spend time with. Initials are fine.
Names and answers are saved on this device only, so you can come back to them. When you finish, only your totals (like "2 pour, 3 drain") are counted, never names.
Your results
Here's your table.
Answer the questions above, and your table shows up here.
The women who pour: protect them. Call them this week, just to say thank you.
The ones who drain: you don't have to cut anyone off. Just stop giving them your best hours.
Fill the empty chair.
If your audit shows an empty chair, fill it with women who match your energy. That's why I'm planning waterfront retreats, golf days, and intimate dinners for successful women who've built the life and are ready to enjoy it.
